Triple the Head Start budget for children birth to age 5. children are our future. Let's invest in theirs. Head Start is not child care, it is child development including nutritious meals, and parent education. Let's take another step toward preschool for all.

Renewable Energy: support distributed generation throughout the rural electric system (where space is available) and create a series of microgrids that combine into the total nation-wide electric grid, but can disaggregate and perform independently when necessary (i.e. in intense storms or terrorist attacks). This will, also, clean up the air, make desperately needed water available to farmers & urban areas, and hold rising electric costs in check!

As we saw in Connecticut, the government will buy residential property to be used by private contractors. All homeowners need to be protected against a government body using the right of eminent domain for the profit of developers. It is especially necessary for the elderly and the working poor. who could be forced out of their homes.

Guns should be treated like cars, you know where a car is from the day it rolls off the assembly line till it is crushed for scrap. You will never convince people that gun control is good, but knowing where the guns are and having people register them and register them when sold would be a big step in right the directions. Besides look how safe cars compared to 20 to 40 years ago, how safe would guns be now. think about it.

Transition to sustainable agriculture. Large monoculture agriculture is depleting our soil. Transfer research money to sustainable, organic agriculture. We subsidize corn which encourages the destruction of the soil. The main uses of all this corn are 1. high fructose corn syrup (tied to obesity) 2. Feed for polluting CAFO's (cows can't digest corn properly & these operations feed 80% of the antibiotics used leading to antibiotic resistant bacteria) 3. Ethanol (no net energy gain)

There are still a lot of empty homes foreclosed on by banks. The banks could sell these homes to the government who can then sell them to low-income people at low interest rates.

Make medical marajuana legal in all states. It's pathetic that a family has to move to another state just to get the medical marajuana their family member needs to deal with Chemo or dangerous seizures. Everyone deserves the right to have access to better health when prescribed by their doctor.

Expand Social Security by removing the income cap and advertise the voluntary contributions allowed under the law as an alternative to 401k plans and attenuate the annuity to the amount you invested. The republicans are always touting freedom, so give us a right to be free to invest in our own retirement with the government and not have your account squandered or "charged and fee'd to death" in the private sector.

Any "charity" requesting tax-free status MUST do ONLY charitable work - that means NO POLITICAL ACTIVITY AT ALL!!! Have the IRS follow the law, as Congress wrote & passed it! Just because a Republican director changed it long ago doesn't make it right!!! I strongly object to MY taxes supporting political activity of any "charity" that isn't even a charity!!!
