Bring back the Fairness Doctrine, repealed during the Reagan area, to bring parity and responsible reporting back to our airwaves so that we have a better-informed citizenry casting better-informed votes.

Bring back the fairness doctrine and extend it to include cable television and radio. Make all news casts and commercials responsible for what they say. If they say someone is a communist they should have to back it up. Make TV talking heads responsible for their own blithering stupid comments. Have hefty fines so they understand this is not going to be a slap on the wrist.

If we ever want to have civilized discourse, then we must restore "The Fairness Doctrine", which Reagan did away with in 1987. This will result in the same set of facts being used for discussion, even though they may be intrepreted differently. Then no more Glen Beck or Limbaugh, etc. or if the media continues to promote this type of a disinformation campaign, then they must provide equal time to the opposition at no charge.

Our television networks have a responsibility to inform the public, not to misinform them as they do now as propagandist tools. The Fairness Doctrine will help to put a stop to the propaganda.
