Make gerrymandering of districts illegal. The only criteria that voting districts should be based upon is geographical location. Current redistricting policies only serve to disenfranchise voters of both parties, decrease the effectiveness of our democratic process, and encourage partisan divisions.

A national checkerboard districting system that would eliminate Gerrymandering. Lines must be laid out on existing Latitude and Longitude lines.

Gerrymandering, a practice neither party is innocent of engineering when in power, must be replaced by balanced voting districts. Until that happens, politicians in "safe" seats will be able to represent carefully engineered partisan interests, ignoring the greater good, with impunity.

End gerrymandering. Seek out a math wizard to help define 2 key ingredients in redistricting rules. 1. a maximum deviation in population of districts. 2. a geometrical rule of fewest 90 degree corners.

Reform election rules about establishing congressional districts to prevent gerrymandering. Require each district to represent a maximum percentage of voters, so that high population metro areas are fairly represented and rural areas do not receive disproportionate representation for their size.

End gerrymandering. This issue is currently governed by a maze of legislative and judicial actions; it may require a constitutional amendment to make reform stick. Require that all districts have approximately equal populations, be geographically compact, and not deliberately be designed to favor or disfavor any particular group.

End Gerrymandering. One of the causes of our do-nothing congress is that well more than three-quarters of all US House districts are considered "safe" seats for their party. This is due to redistricting boundaries which are drawn in order to "stack, pack and crack" voters in their districts. Enforce that all districts be drawn to follow municipal boundaries as closely as possible, and otherwise be as square as possible.

Add a section to the Voting Rights Act, which provides that all voters are entitled to districts which have not been gerrymandered. Then define the term: a district is gerrymandered if there are more than 12 edges in its border, or if the square of the district perimeter exceeds 20 times the area of the district

Straight-line districting: all voting districts would be composed of either 3 or 4 straight lines, excepting shoreline or other natural landscape borders. This would minimize the effect of gerrymandering and make elections more truly representative.

End Gerrymandering by setting objective, hierarchical criteria for redistricting into Constitutional law. the 1st criterion should be equality of population, the 2nd geographical compactness, 3rd junior boundaries such as county & municipal borders, 4th other communities of interest.
