Just one of the locked in disasters that we are handing down to our descendants: sea level rise of several feet by 2100. The amount of rise and the timing keep getting revised to more disastrous levels.
The breakup of the ice sheets is a non-linear, poorly understood process. But every vast iceberg that calves off ahead of schedule is a grim warming that we're just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
We need a world-wide reining in of GHG emissions that has the force of law. And manufacturing must be diverted to getting the infrastructure of clean, non-GHG-emitting energy up and ready with years. Then the rationing could be removed, we would have full employment, and we would have huge costs savings after having eliminated the disastrou health impacts of dirty energy.
