Tax political campaign contributions. With all the millions of dollars that are spent on campaign contributions even a 1% tax would raise a goodly amount that could then be used at the state level for infrastructure needs or housing for the homeless or education or any numerous social services. At the federal level same needs could be addressed or even paying down on the national debt.

I would agree except the tax revenue should go to creating an endowment to pay for public financing in the future. Also, the tax should escalate with the size of the campaign contribution. And dark money contributions should be much more heavily taxed than traceable donations.
