Electronic hacking of computerized vote tabulation is an immanent threat to Democracy. We need to revert to manual voting where the actual vote can be verified. Karl Rove has already mastered the art of electronic voter fraud even though no one in the media wants to admit it.

Use only publicly observed hand-counting of paper ballots in all elections. End all involvement of programmable devices (computers, etc.) in voting and vote counting (including downstream tabulation). It is impossible to see what is going on inside the machines, so machine voting/vote counting is inherently non-transparent and inherently insecure. We even have plenty of examples of computer systems (election and otherwise) being hacked.

All voting to be done by marking paper ballots (not punch cards). Ballot counting to be done under observation of any citizen(s) who want to be present for the count. Ballots to be kept secure for use in any recounts that may be needed. This will eliminate the fraud resulting from electronic machine voting.

Nationally ban and eliminate all easily hacked, unaccountable electronic voting machines and tabulation equipment, and make the paper ballot mandatory.

If anything, we should be working to use both forms of voting, verifying one with the other(ex: electronic voting verified by comparing to paper ballot votes). Paper ballot alone is extremely insecure, far less secure than *some* voting machines being easily hackable.
